In order to participate in foxhunting, it is required by law to have a hunting license. To acquire the necessary license, you will need to create an account if you don’t already have one on the Go Outdoors Virginia website (use the link below).

Once you have an account, the required licenses are Resident Special Fox Hunting ($23 annually) and National Forest Permit ($4 annually).

The Resident Special Fox Hunting is not required of an individual already holding a basic license to hunt.
